CITYSCAPERS are organic gardeners.

We don't make a big deal of it: it doesn't involve mess or additional cost or any inconvenience to our clients and, frankly, we prefer to trade on our horticultural expertise than our green credentials.

That said, it's a value add-on: the organic approach results in stronger, healthier plant growth, deeper scent & colour, more birds & butterflies even.

Our approach is based upon simple principles:

  • We RECYCLE garden waste - either in situ or off site.
  • We use ORGANIC products such as compost MULCHES that transform plant health & vitality.
  • Healthier plants better resist insect, bacterial & fungal attack so we don't need to use PESTICIDES like RoseClear.
  • We avoid BLOWERS - those noisy orange plastic things that strap on your back and blow leaves around. We're not fans
  • We highly recommend investing in garden IRRIGATION. We install fully-automated systems for around £500 that are extremely water efficient. You'll be amazed at the effect they have on plant health & growth rate.
   

RECYCLING: your local council will recycle your garden waste for you. This is more efficient than our running to and from the dump in Transit vans all day. Alternatively you can invest £350 in a compost heap & shredder and we'll compost all your garden waste for you on site to create wonderful, dark, friable organic mulches.

MULCHING: is the annual process of applying a rich, organic layer of compost to your beds to give your plants & shrubs a nutritional boost. It additionally restricts weed growth, helps retain moisture & protects tender plants from frost.
